Is the battle between Google and Microsoft raising to a new level? Scobleizer posted about some "insider" info that sounds like Google is working either on a offline Gmail client or even a server platform that might let organizations replace Microsoft’s Exchange server.
That does sounds like war declaration against Microsoft…

This might get interesting and maybe even dirty… ;-)

It looks like the guys at Microsoft have been busy and added some cool features to IE8. Take a look at IE8’s new Favorite bar, which has some pretty nifty and cool stuff like "WebSlices"
A WebSlice is a piece of a webpage (a “slice”) that you can subscribe to. When you subscribe to a WebSlice, it appears as a shortcut on the Favorites bar.
See the post on the MSDN blog for more details.

APC Magazine published a SUPERGUIDE: The Open Source Challenge. How to replace Windows completely with Ubuntu. The guide is almost step-by-step with lots of screen shots and looks into almost every niche of computing, from gaming, encoding music, iPod, Video Editing and rated every category - compared to Windows. You’ll be surprised, but Linux (they used Ubuntu for the guide) can out race windows in many many areas (some that you wouldn’t expect). Even gaming, playing new games on Ubuntu is possible (games like Unreal Tournament, Doom 3, Quake 3). Read it and start to believe… Ubuntu does a better job than windows in many aspects (well not all yet, but they are on the right way…)

Another move in the battle between Microsoft and google. Microsoft duplicates google’s web analytics. Take a first look at MS "Gatineau" - the code name for the web analytics service.
