I just read a great article and guide on LifeHacker.com about using Restore on Ubuntu to create a cross platform backup solution - Sounds like a great solution to backing up your entire home network.

Matt Cutts wrote and excellent step by step guide on How to configure Synergy in six steps . After reading his article i went directly to the Synergy download page and installed it… I have nothing to add to his article, Synergy is amazingly simple and works great, if you use more then one computer.
